Kung Plastic Surgery is pleased to offer the latest in facelift technology: the 24-hour Scarless Surgical Facelift. This procedure, as modified by Dr. Kung, utilizes Threadlift™ technology to restore a youthful appearance with no scarring and little downtime.
With this technique, Dr. Kung uses pin hole-sized incisions to weave non-absorbable thread under the skin. These threads are "lifted" and secured in the surrounding tissue, smoothing and lifting sagging or wrinkled skin. The rejuvenating effect is made possible by Threadlift™ technology, which uses extremely small sutures and requires no cutting or large incisions.
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia in the comfort of our office. The 24-hour Facelift takes about an hour to complete and patients can usually expect to return to work the very next day. The 24-Hour Scarless Surgical Facelift produces immediate results, achieving as much as 60 to 70 percent of the effect of a traditional facelift at a fraction of the cost.
The minimal access facelift, or MACS (Minimal Access Cranial Suspension Lift), is a procedure that also uses sutures for suspension, but involves some small incisions as well. It is performed in an office setting under local anesthesia. We are now using new technology like tissue sealant to limit bruising and swelling, which has reduced recovery time to just over one week.
Because a small amount of skin is removed in the procedure, it's not strictly non-invasive. But the results of MACS last much longer than the 24- hour Scarless Surgical Facelift with only a marginal increase in recovery time. Both procedures are safe and very powerful.
